Step into Christmas
25.11.2024
Words by Alan Russell
To kick off December, we’ve rounded up some of the best local attractions and activities to get you into the holiday spirit this festive season
The Churchill Arms
Kensington Church Street, W8 7LN
Known for some of the best Christmas decorations in London, the Churchill Arms in Kensington is our choice for a festive drink this December. With over 90 conifer trees hung on the exterior of the building and a staggering amount of lights, this display is OTT in the best way. The installation is there until 5th January, so you have plenty of time to pop by and marvel at its shiny beauty.
Glide at Battersea Power Station
Nine Elms, SW11 8EF
Set against the stunning backdrop of one of London’s most iconic landmarks, Glide at Battersea Power Station returns for another season of festive fun. Alongside its three interconnecting ice rinks, there’s also a cosy Christmas bar, perfect for those who prefer to enjoy the festivities from the sidelines. Tickets are available to book here.
Daylesford Organic
Westbourne Grove, W11 2RH
A firm favourite for organic and sustainably sourced produce, Daylesford has given its Notting Hill branch a Christmas makeover. Pop in to browse their festive food selections in the deli cafe, stock up on some last-minute advent calendars, or reinvent your Christmas Day table with their beautiful tablecloths and crockery. If you happen to be in the Cotswolds this Christmas, you can pop along to their farm shop and take part in a Christmas biscuit decorating workshop, led by Biscuiteers, on 8th and 15th December. Tickets are available to book here.
Fulham Palace
Bishop's Avenue, SW6 6EA
Throughout December, Fulham Palace is putting on a month of festive activities suitable for the whole family. From Christmas fairs and illuminated light trail walks, to A Christmas Carol production and a Father Christmas meet-and-greet. Explore the full event schedule on their website.
